Inventory Additional fields

Inventory- Manager Additional fields

Stock Manager additional fields

There is now a possibility for ProVersion users to add freely definable fields in the stocks. Up to 20 fields can be added per group. The name of the field, its input length and its field type can be freely selected ('Configuration' -> 'Additional fields').

The field types are: text, numbers, decimal numbers and date fields. The keyboard type that appears during input depends on the field type.

Such defined additional fields appear automatically in the supply mask. You can also use them in supply lists to search for content and sort supply lists.

When searching in additional fields, the field whose content is to be searched for is selected in the stock search menu, as in the case of searching in the name and remarks. As with the description, if less than 3 characters are entered, the search is based on the identical beginning of the field - otherwise on the occurrence of the character string somewhere in the field.

Sorting depends on the field type, i.e. numbers and decimal numbers are not sorted alphanumerically but by value, date fields are sorted correctly by date. In sorted lists, the content of the sort field is always displayed, even if its display is normally disabled in the settings.

In the detailed search it is also possible to search for additional fields and for number and date fields by condition '<' or '>'.

In addition, the additional fields can also be used in mass editing to assign a specific content to a selected quantity of stocks in a specific additional field.

The additional fields can also be used in CSV import and export. For them, as for some others, their display in stock lists can be turned on and off by setting : 'Show additional fields in stock list as well' (this then applies to CSV export as well).

This extension is not free of charge. It can be purchased for one group at a time via in-app purchase (3.99 EUR 1-time purchase, no subscription). If 1 member of a group buys the extension, it is automatically available to all group members. It can be purchased and used only by ProVersion users.

If you want to have additional fields in several groups, the extension must be purchased separately for each group. Each group can have different additional fields.

The additional fields can also be renamed later or changed in length or field type. However, care must be taken if content already exists: within the supplies, the existing content remains in the order once selected. So it usually makes no sense to swap the names of two fields or to change a text field into a number field afterwards. On the other hand, it is possible to add additional fields at any time without any problems.

If you create a new group with data, the defined fields and the contents of additional fields are taken over (and also synchronized), but in order to be able to use them, you still have to buy the extension separately for this new group.

Examples :

Freeze date: field length 10, field type date

PricePerKG: Field length 12, Field type Decimal number

Manufacturer: Field length 30, Field type Text

Additional fields of the type date are stored like the best before date in internal representation YYYYMMDD, so that after it can be sorted as well as be searched in the detail search with '<' and '>'.
